But we passed it on the Cotswold Way.
Unlike birds and insects it didn’t fly away rapidly.

You have seen this butterfly in Croatia. This one, showing the under side of the wings, was on the Thames Path.
Lots of insects this week have not been selected so I went into the garden and found this one.
Episyrphus balteatus is a hoverfly easily recognized by the thinner stripes below the thick ones.
